Report on national urban policies in Africa: the contribution of cities to economic growth
The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) held an Expert Group Meeting to review the report entitled “National urban policies in Africa: the contribution of cities to economic growth”. The meeting was held under the framework of the implementation of the ECA work program for the biennium 2016–2017. The main objectives of the meeting were to discuss, in detail, each chapter of the report and to review the key findings and policy messages and recommendations for selected countries; identify any areas of improvement, with further analysis; and discuss how to turn the report into an actionable policy paper that member States could use. The expected outcomes of the Expert Group Meeting were to receive a comprehensive review of the report along with specific and substantial comments and suggestions on how it might be improved.
