Statement by Adebayo Adedeji: at the opening of the sixth meeting of the technical preparatory committee of the whole Addis-Ababa, 15-22 April 1985

The statement made at the opening of the sixth meeting of the Technical Preparatory Committee of the Whole held at Economic Commission for Africa from 15-22 April 1985. The speech has four major components; In part I, the Committee dealt with the review of developments since the Commission’s last session in May 1984. Part II of the agenda covers on how to accelerate Lagos plan of Action, improvement of Agricultural development and external management. In part III, It talks about the short and long-term African economic situation. Finally, important policies and programmes of action have been formulated in several critical economic and social sectors, such as population and development and the integration of women in development.
