The contribution of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) to NEPAD
This paper focuses on the contribution of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) to NEPAD. The essential elements of this agenda are as stipulated in various blueprints including the MDGs, NEPAD, and the Treaty Establishing the African Economic Community and the constitutive Act of the African Union. At the core of the objectives enshrined in these blueprints are poverty reduction, promotion of peace and security and good economic and political governance as a sine-qua-non for development.
