Report of mission to SADC to participate in the meetings of SADC policy organs
The meetings of the Policy Organs of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) were held from I to 7 August 2000 in Windhoek, Namibia. The major outcome of the meetings is summarized in the 2000 SADC Summit Final Communique (attached). However, some issues considered, which are of relevance to the work of ECA,are highlighted below.Restructuring SADC,Appointment of the Executive Secretary of SADC,SADC Protocol on Trade,Currency Convertibility,Study on Self-financing Mechanism.
