ECA donor profiles 2007
Bilateral and multilateral partnerships with ECA are longstanding. The Commission has also forged strong partnerships with the major multilateral and bilateral agencies in advancing its policy advocacy and support to the continent. However, in recent times (1996), ECA launched a major programme of reform and renewal to serve Africa better and the Executive Secretary undertook outreach missions to the major capitals of donor countries to foster a better understanding of the ECA role in Africa among government leaders and heads of aid agencies. The Commission also developed a series of partnership proposals to leverage its priority work programme through discreet projects and activities funded by extra budgetary resources.
