Progress report on the establishment of the African economic community
With the breaking up of colonial empires, a decolonized and independent Africa suddenly found itself physically disintegrating and fragmenting into a multitude of sovereign and balkanized States and confined within artificial boundaries and most of which were not economically viable. Indeed, only, four African countries today have a population exceeding 30 million; 35 have less than one million inhabitants arid 10 less than one million inhabitants.
