Technical report on the post-enumeration survey for coverage evaluation of African population censuses
The purpose of the mission was (i) to discuss the need and to explore the possibilities and means to evaluate the census after it will be conducted in Senegal and in Dahomey, (ii) to gain experience from the results obtained and the problems faced in the post-enumeration survey conducted in Liberia, and (iii) to discuss the matching problems that arose during the pilot census in Ethiopia where the house to house canvassing method was compared with the group enumeration method of census enumeration, as well as to discuss the possibility of census evaluation.
