Report of the eighth ECA/OAU meeting on trade and development : Geneva, 9-17 August 1973
The major objective of the meeting was to take stock of African positions on the international negotiations on trade and monetary issues in the light of the latest information that was available at the tirae, 3nd make recommendations, where appropriate to African Governments, within the framework of the decisions of African Heads of State and Government, at their tenth assembly in May 1973* An important function of the ECA/OAU Joint Meeting was to examine studies prepared by the secretariats of the ECA and OAU in the field of trade and finance and to make recommendations, where appropriate, for further action. If further, the meeting,was convened to assist African countries to harmonize their positions on various issues before the thirteenth session of the Trade and Development Board.
