Report on the revision of the system of national accounts (SNA)
After several years of discussion, the SNA review exercise was completed in 1989. This paper describes the status of work done on the SNA and is submitted Statistical Committee of the to sixth session of the Joint Conference of African Planners Statisticians and Demographers in order to inform them of developments in this area. The second Section of the paper gives a general overview of how the review was organized, in particular the series of expert group meetings convened to consider various technical aspects. Section III describes the substantive issues discussed at those meetings and the conclusions reached. Section IV describes the work programme for future international regional activities.
