Report of the working group on organization, content and methodology of household surveys: (with special emphasis on data processing) for english-speaking African countries, Addis Ababa, 16-20 November 1987
The discussions deals the participants recognized that there was a problem of financing household surveys programmes in many African countries. However, some of them ' felt ' that this problem was not as acute as it would seem. It was noted that in most of the participating countries, the Government allocated funds for surveys, although this was often 'inadequate. The participants also pointed out that there were cases where the available resources had not been efficiently used.' It was suggested that the management of -national statistical services (NSS) should be improved in order to rationalize the use of the limited resources available.
