Report on UNIDO II: ninth meeting of the technical preparatory committee of the whole

Since the conversion of UNIDO into a specialized agency, the Organization held two general conferences in 1985 and 1987 respectively. While the first General Conference was essentially devoted to constitutional, administrative and organizational issues, the second General Conference provided the opportunity to discuss substantively world industrial issues, in the framework of the new organization. Such issues included, inter alia, co-operation in respect to industrial development, development of human resources and technological capabilities for industrial development, mobilization of financial resources for industrial development, and external debt and industrial development.
