River basin development in Africa

From earliest times, water has been a critical factor in determining socio – economic conditions in human societies. In Africa, where over 75% of the continent is deficient in rainfall at some time during the year, rivers and lakes were the focus of civilization, and the rational utilization of water resources became one of the key factors in processing from subsistence to market economies
