Comparative regional typology of urbanization patterns by sex and age
The present Working Paper goes one step further in adopting a: device by which fluctuations around a percentage (whether this happens to be high, intermediate or low) can be measured comparably. Use of this device has made it possible to combine the patterns of individual countries, into regional averages and establish thereby some regional patterns. These regional patterns in their turn, were found to constitute a certain sequence, going from one extreme' (Argentina and Uruguay) to another extreme (Namibia and South Africa), following through this sequence of regions: Latin America, countries of European overseas settlement, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and Tropical Africa,
