Evidence for a latitudinal diversity gradient in liverworts and hornworts
The existence of a latitudinal diversity gradient peaking near the equator and decreasing towards the poles is remarkably constant across geographical areas, scales, habitats and taxonomic groups, and therefore appears as one of the few laws in ecology.
