Prevenció de la violència de gènere i assetjament sexual a l'ICM

[EN] Sexual and gender-based harassment in the workplace is one of the manifestations of gender-based violence in society. This problem stems from a social system that has historically discriminated against women and placed them in a subordinate position towards men. Sexual and gender-based harassment in the workplace refers to any unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature by superiors or colleagues, which violates the dignity of the person and creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment. In addition to the harmful consequences for the victims, sexual and gender-based harassment is a real threat to the institution, as it affects the quality of research and the well-being of the staff. However, it remains an unrecognised or naturalised problem. In this sense, and in the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the ICM assumes a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual and gender-based harassment and ratifies its commitment to guarantee a working environment free of any manifestation of sexual harassment and gender-based violence, by promoting a culture that respects equality, and through the implementation of the necessary instruments. Thus, one of the key actions of the ICM Gender Equality Plan is to deploy the CSIC Sexual and Gender-based Harassment Protocol at the ICM, establishing the internal procedure to implement this document and appointing the reference persons in charge of this issue in our institution. During this talk, the implications of sexual and gender-based harassment will be introduced, some data to consider will be presented and finally, the proposed roadmap to deal with cases of sexual and gender-based harassment and the role of the persons of reference in the ICM will be explained
