Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM) - A Great Story to Tell
[EN] Through excellent marine research, we can unlock the fascinating story that the ocean tells us, and solve the great challenges we face as humanity. Global warming, climate fluctuations, sea level rise, ocean acidification and extreme climatic events disrupt economies and affect our daily lives. Addressing these problems through research is the mission of the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM), the only centre of excellence in Spain dedicated to ocean research. We carry out pioneering research and promote the transfer of knowledge and technology on issues related to the interaction between the ocean and the climate, the conservation and sustainable use of marine life and ecosystems, and the mitigation of natural and anthropogenic impacts.
