Cosechando historia, sembrando futuro
The Federation celebrates 60 years of history. In oil palm terms, we could say that a period of renewal is upon us, marked by the fulfillment of a productive cycle, and especially by the development of the Colombian palm industry, which today faces several factors that reveal anew stage. On the one hand, the sector has become the country’s second crop in planted area, with a production value exceeding 7.7 trillion pesos in 2021. It is also the first product in non-traditional exports in the region (fourth in agricultural exports) with a value that exceeds 500million dollars. Palm growing has spread to several regions, reaching more than 160 municipalities where, in many cases, it has become the main formal economic activity and a driver of progress for rural areas of our country.
