State of art insights on achieving better policy coherence

The complexity of agrifood systems necessitates the use of systems thinking and tools for better governance and policymaking. This approach was emphasized during the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit, leading over 120 countries to create National Transformational Pathways to address systemic challenges across various sectors. The FAO and the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose are collaborating to enhance policymakers' skills in using these tools, supporting the design and implementation of effective agrifood policies. This includes a training package for policymakers and research on policy coherence by Master of Public Administration students.
