Aquatic plants and wetland wildlife resources of Nigeria.

This publication reviews the non-fish aquatic resources of Nigeria, i.e. aquatic plants and wetland wildlife, with background information on climate, vegetation, soil hydrology, water resources, water quality and limnology as relevant to the subject. Information on aquatic plants focuses on their use and management. The section on wetland wildlife resources of Nigerian lakes and rivers deals with their distribution, status, species diversity and economic importance and covers aquatic birds, re ptiles, mammals and amphibians of fresh waters. Proposals are advanced for their development, rational exploitation, management, conservation and propagation, including culture.
