Report of the Twenty-ninth session of the Asia and Pacific Plant Protection Commission

This publication reports on the twenty-ninth session of the Asia and Pacific Plant Protection Commission (APPPC) convened in Bali, Indonesia from 7 to 11 September 2015. The session reviewed the body’s work carried out during the previous biennium, including cooperation with counterpart organizations, and the overall plant protection situation at national and regional levels. The session reported on progress in the region in information exchange, plant quarantine, integrated pest management and pesticide management. Work for the 2016-17 biennium includes pest surveillance activities, a pilot project on e-Phyto, a regional standard for phytosanitary measures (RSPM) for fruit flies in mangoes, additional projects on South American leaf blight and a workshop on illegal pesticides, among others. Country reports on significant developments in plant protection since 2013 are included in the document.
