Report of the thirty-second session of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC)

This is the final report of the thirty-second session of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC) convened in Da Nang, Viet Nam from 20 to 22 September 2012. The Committee reviewed the status and potential of fisheries and aquaculture in Asia and the Pacific as well as activities carried out by the Commission since the previous session. Member countries reported on national efforts undertaken in support of the recommendations of the previous three sessions of APFIC. Other topics discussed inc luded ways to strengthen assessments in fisheries and aquaculture to improve management of fisheries resources, and adaptation to and mitigation of climate change. The session concluded with discussion of emerging issues in the region and endorsed the strategic plan 2012–2018 as well as the biennial work plan 2013–14.
