Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC) report of the Executive Committee

This document presents the final report of the Seventy-eighth Session of the Executive Committee of the Asia-Pacific Fishery Commission (APFIC) that was held virtually from 21 to 23 June 2022. The Executive Committee reviewed the recommendations of the meetings of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Future of APFIC and proposed two resolutions – to suspend or to continue – to be considered by Members during the Thirty-seventh Session of APFIC to be convened in 2023. Should APFIC agree to continue, that resolution commits to identifying financing aspects. The Executive Committee discussed the preparation for the Thirty-seventh Session of APFIC and noted that there were no plans to convene an APFIC Regional Consultative Forum Meeting before it. The proposal for convening the Thirty-seventh Session in China in mid-2023 (hybrid) would be subject to confirmation by China and the format would be decided based on the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
