Main diseases of honey bees

The occurence of diseases in honeybees depends on three factors: (a) Bees (genetic): the hygienic behavior and resistance to various diseases varied from colony to colony and it is based on the genetic heritage of the queen bees. (b) Pathogens (presence, infectious load and virulence): the disease needs the presence of the responsible agent to manifest itself (virus, bacteria, fungus, protozoa), but the quantity and ability to spread of the pathogen is also very important. 3) Environment (temperature, relative humidity, presence of nectar plants): environmental conditions and seasonal factors strongly influence the onset of diseases, in many cases they are real key triggers.
