No conozco al Sor. Gutiérrez: Ni áun su nombre hasta ahora ha llegado a mis oidos. ¿Es esto una falta?: no lo creo, pues siendo yo de Italia, en donde reina la literatura más antigua de las que viven sobre la tierra, no he creido conveniente engalanar el rostro severo de una literatura anciana con las flores delicadas y exóticas de la joven literatura de Sud-América.
