Citrus fruits and orange juice: Not much juice left!

The world citrus trade is organised around two main areas: fresh fruit and juices and preserves. The world market for fresh citrus fruit is growing at a slow but steady pace. On the European market, competition is fierce between Mediterranean suppliers, but also between origins from the northern and southern hemispheres for which the campaigns tend to overlap (orange and lemon). The orange juice market is overheating with a shrinking supply and low stocks. It remains to be seen whether, in a context of structurally declining demand, prices will continue to rise.
