The immature stages of two Ceutorhynchus species found on Echiurn spp. (Boraginaceae) (Coleoptera, Curcalîonidae)

Ceutorhynchus geographicus (GOEZE) and C. larvatus SCHULTE, are commonly found in Europe on Echium vulgare, E. plantagineum and E. italicum. These potential biological control agents can coexist on the same Echium plant. The larvae of the two species can be differentated by cephalic chaetotaxy; the eggs by their colour and shape.
