All steps of this technique using seedling as a source of explants was completely mastered and assessed in field. Since 2006, the microcutting technique has been the subject of a cooperative research programme between Cirad and Indonesian Biotechnology Research Institute for Estate Crops (IBRIEC) and Indonesian Rubber Research Institute (IRRI), with the aim to implement this technology for the propagation of rubber clonal rootstocks. Development of rubber tree microcutting by CIRAD (France) and IBRIEC/IRRI (Indonesia) and the prospective steps of hevea rootstock clones development will be discussed in this article. completely mastered and assessed in field.
