Towards a comprehensive approach in citrus nursery fertilization

The optimum level of mineral uptake for citrus nursery plants was assessed by logging field- grown grafted Clementine at specific stages of development. For this purpose, several plots of Clementine plants grafted on sour orange were raised in a rich alluvial soil of eastern Corsica. Random samples of young grafted trees were then submitted to chemical analysis for both macro and micro-nutrient. The results expressed in mineral contents for a given age of nursery plants are discussed with a view of defining adequate fertilizing levels. The recommandations are targeting modern container-grown nurseries equipped with fertigation devices.
