Cattle husbandry in small holders farming systems of low amazon brasilian region
From informations of a survey on 117 farms in Low Amazon region, the authors indicate the cattle livestock like one of the main agricultural activities in small holders agriculture. Animal health and nutrition are the main technical problem, which contribute to the low ecological and economic sustainibility of cattle husbandry. With 65 % of native forest and 15 % of secondary forest, the situation of natural resources in the small holders farm is not critical, and show the apparent low effects of theses agricultural systems on rain forest in the Low Amazon region.
