Investigaciones y experiencias con la langosta brasileira en Brasil. Opiniones sobre la situacion en Colombia
Since 1994, Colombia has faced a critical locust situation in the Ilanos area, mainly in the states of Meta, Casanares and Vichada. The locust situation in Colombia will be examined first taking into account the experience acquired during a four year project in Brazil on the same species. Thus it will be possible to formulate some reasonnable hypotheses on the current situation in Colombia. The set of measures taken in Colombia to face the locust invasion will be investigated briefly and some recommandations for the continuation of survey, control operations and research will be given.
