The Bank's role in livestock marketing and processing: the meat industry
After a general overview of animal products market in developed and developing countries, the authors have studied the main contraints and opportunities in the marketing and processing sub-sector. Several proposals concerning the needs in rehabilitation and new constructions of slaughterhouses are done for subsaharian Africa, China, India. A new methodology in management of the slaughterhouses is also proposed.
