The economic returns to institutional innovations in national agricultural research: on-farm research in IDIAP Panama
The paper presents a method for analyzing the returns to investment in on-farm research. It then applies the method to a location-specific maize research program in Caisan, Panama. The results show a rapid adoption of the recommendations produced by the program and a high rate of return on the investment in on-farm research.
