Cohniella yucatanensis (Orchidaceae), una especie endémica y vulnerable en la Península de Yucatán
Las especies de Cohniella son conocidas horticulturalmente por sus hojas cilíndricas carnosas como “colas de rata” y se distinguen dentro de la subtribu Oncidiinae (Orchidaceae) por sus flores amarillas con apariencia de malpigiáceas (p. ej. el “Nance” Byrsonima crassifolia (L.) Kunth). Este género incluye 22 especies y dos híbridos naturales, distribuidas desde el norte de México hasta el sur de Brasil y norte de Argentina.
