Notes for Discussion in TAC on Priorities in International Agricultural Research
TAC Chairman Sir John Crawford's note on priorities starts with analysis of the Committee's terms of reference. The note, prepared as the basis for an initial TAC discussion, recognizes the first priority of food, but allows room for consideration of research on non-food agricultural production. It considers financial constraints, types of organization, and the role of regionally focussed programs, Sir John also muses on how the CGIAR may approach socioeconomic research.
