Report of the Center Directors Committee to CGIAR International Centers Week 1999 delivered by Committee Chair Pedro Sanchez. Under System Review Follow-up, the report described developments related to the management of genetic resources, plans for a CGIAR meeting with SPAAR/FARA in January 2000 to finalize a research agenda and strategy for Sub Saharan Africa. The report also discussed outcomes of the 'Meeting of the Minds II' on collaboration in African agricultural research, and of the Bilderberg Conference on integrated natural resource management-both in September 1999. The report also commented on the process of replacing the CGIAR chairman and executive secretary, and the chair of TAC.The CDC cited its involvement in planning for long term financing for the CGIAR, and continued to express strong support for broadening the Future Harvest campaign. The report described the work of several CDC task forces. It concluded by appealing to donors for increased support from ODA and other sources, timely disbursement, and avoidance of sudden changes of plan.
