Taming globalisation
The process of globalisation is high on many people's agendas, but little work has been done on its social costs; or on the relationship between it, the information society, and the information superhighway; or on the marginalisation of people from the least developed countries. Development and the information age covers all these aspects, and draws on the actual experiences and opinions of people in Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia, West Asia, and Latin America.
