Compost concocted from tea and coffee waste

The problem of dealing with thousands of tons of waste residues from coffee and tea production seems to have been solved by the Japanese Pokka company and the Department of Horticulture at the University of Gifu, north of Kyoto in Japan. They have developed a system that produces compost by fermenting the residues. A collection service covering the Greater Tokyo region could bring in 700,000 t of waste and process them into cheap compost, at a price of h 0.15 a litre. They have developed a system that produces compost by fermenting the residues at very low cost.
