Who is Working for Whom?

Jean Kuate, Yaoundé, Cameroon: 'I was looking again at the cartoon published in Spore No 56 of April 1995. A woman who is digging is followed by a long line of all kinds of people. This made me laugh but also cry because it is a sad reflection of our daily life. Who is really working for whom? As an agricultural scientists I felt that I was part of the army taking notes and following the woman. It is clear that the poor woman and the taxpayer have to work to feed this horde. How are we going to overcome this problem of the two end links of the chain having to work to support all the rest?'
