Agroforestry discussion pack

A booklet designed to promote active discussion of current key issues in agroforestry research has been produced by Fountain Renewable Resources (FRR) on behalf of the Forestry Research Programme at the University of Oxford. The booklet comprises illustrated discussion material intended for use by scientists and project personnel employed by national governments, teaching establishments and development organizations. The intention is that the material should stimulate exchange of ideas within research groups and assist in the development of new project proposals. In addition the booklet provides useful teaching material for lecturers in universities and colleges, discussion topics for seminars, and study material for students. Each of the key topics covered is given in a separate section and there are questions at the end of each section that are intended to provoke discussion. The text is accompanied by, and largely refers to, a separate 4-page brochure of colour prints (reproduced from colour slides) which can be worked through systematically by an individual or by small groups. Larger audiences with a discussion leader may prefer to use the slide pack which is available, if specially requested, to replace the pictorial brochure. Copies of Agroforestry research: approaches to the design of agroforestry systems with emphasis on buffer zone development in the rain forests of West Africa are available from Joanne Wainwright, Project Manager Fountain Renewable Resources Ltd.
