Rural radio network recognized

The Developing Countries Farm Radio Network (DCFRN) has been awarded the Alan Feinstein Prize for the prevention or reduction of hunger by Brown University, USA. The prize was inaugurated in 1985, and this year was ceremonially presented to Elizabeth Wilson, the Executive Director of DCFRN, at Brown University on 9 April, 1992. Previous winners have been the Iringa People's Association from Tanzania (1990-91) and the Bangladesh Rural Advancement Committee (1980-90). DCFRN, which is based in Toronto, Canada, produces radio broadcasts for developing countries and is financed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
