More help in fight againt weeds
Weeds can destroy up to 45% of crops in developing countries - and can make the difference between life and death for some people. The South East Asian Weed Information Centre (SEAWIC) is now helping the small farmers of that region to combat this nuisance. Based at the Regional Centre for Tropical Biology (BIOTROP) at Bogor, Indonesia, and funded since its inception in 1981 by the International Development Research Centre, SEAWIC has a bibliographical database, a herbarium and a register of files on self-propagating plants. SEAWIC offers a question-and-answer and an identification service, and publishes a bulletin, Weedwatcher three times a year. Since 1987 the Centre has also published a series of annotated bibliographies on weeds. For more details, contact: SEAWIC Regional Centre for Tropical Biology Bogor INDONESIA
