Evaluating and improving the African Union’s Africa Food Safety Index, a tool that will help to institutionalize tracking of food safety in African Union Member States
Since the Africa and Food Safety Index was first included in the African Union’s second Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) Biennial Review (BR) in 2019, A4NH researchers have been working with them to improve and refine the index. A 2020-2021 assessment conducted by A4NH with the Partnership for Aflatoxin Control in Africa informed a series of technical and process recommendations to the CAADP BR team to improve the index and make it more relevant and useful for countries.
