Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI), EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance, and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) integrate agriculture criteria and targets for finance assessment

The Climate Bonds Initiative's Agriculture Standard, EU Taxonomy on Sustainable Finance, and Joint MDBs Methodology adopted mitigation criteria and targets informed by CCAFS to assess investments. Rizoma Agro, the largest grower of organic grains in Brazil subsequently received certification for USD 4.5 million in bonds based on the CBI Agriculture Criteria. CCAFS' background paper for CBI, research on mitigation needed to achieve the 2-degree target and cumulative expertise in activity-based MRV across multiple sectors informed the results.
