Aluminio activo en suelos derivados de cenizas volcánicas de Costa Rica y Guatemala
Active aluminum extracted with 0.2 M ammonium oxalate, pH 30, and 4 M KOH of 51 samples of Andepts of Costa Rica and Guatemala was quantified and compared. Acid-oxalate extractable alumimum varied from 0.02 to 5.45 while KOH-extractable alumimum varied between 0.03 and 3 24%. The relationship between the two forms of aluminum is expressed by the equation Y = 0 06 + 0.4404X where Y KOH-AI (% ) and X = acid oxalate AI (%), with and r=0 982.
