Некоторые закономерности многолетней динамики темпа роста сельди в Рижском заливе в период 1960-1985 гг.

The long-term dynamics in the body weights and annual growth rates has been considered for spring-spawning herring of different age. Periodical variations and trends have been established. Using correlation analysis (multiple regression included), environmental factors influencing the growth rate of herrings, have been defined. The growth rate of the 0-group herring is highly affected by temperature. In the 1960-s and early 70-s, the growth rate of herrings older than 2+ was defined by food availability, and in the following years gas regime affected the fish as well. Up to mid-70-s, because of the natural biological processes and the increased anthropogenic impact, variations in the body weights and growth rates of herrings of the age of up to 5+ show a tendency to increase. In the following years, a tendency to decrease was observed in herrings older than 2+. With the decrease of the stock abundance and the fish growth rate, the consumption of the copepod plankton production by herrings in the 80-s was half as in the 70-s: 25-30 and 40-60 %, respectively.
