Diversidad, abundancia y aspectos tróficos de la fauna ictícola acompañante de la captura del camarón y langostino, frente a las costas de Mar del Plata, Argentina
Diversity, abundance and dietary behaviour of fish species found in the area of Cabo Corrientes and Torreón del Monje, city of Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, were studied between January and June of 1996. 17 species Brevoortia aurea, Parona signata, Micropogonias furnieri, Anchoa marinii and Cynoscion striatus were present and caught during all the period of study.Particularly A.marinii and C.striatus were the dominant species.B.aurea and A.marinii are phyto and zooplanctophagous. P.signata ingests zooplankton and benthic organisms (isopods, amphipods).M.furnieri ingests benthic and semibenthic organisms Peisos petrunkevitchi. C.striatus is zooplanktophagous, carcinophagous and ictiophagous. P.petrunkevitchi is considered as the most important fish food item in the diet of almost all of the species studied and it appeared in high rates in the stomach contents.
