Distribución estacional y estructura de tallas del abadejo Genypterus blacodes en el Mar Argentino

The main purpose of this paper is to describe the seasonal distribution and length structure of the Pink cuskeel Genypterus blacodes. Data from surveys carried out between 1973-1989 were used. Basic data included Pink cuskeel densities per haul, catch length structure, depth and haul position. Pink cuskeel distribution was obtained by using the same density ranges for all seasons. A cluster analysis was applied to group the individual length structure of each survey catch. All year long the principal concentrations were within 40° and 48°S. Throughout the year the adults and juveniles were present in San Jorge Gulf, Patagonia, Argentina, so bimodal distribution were obtained. In winter juveniles were located within the sector 37° and 41°S. During autumn, adult meanlength increase towards higher latitudes and deeper depths. In winter, spring and summer the adults tended to be close to the coast
