Structural deformity in centric diatom species evidenced after Tasman Spirit Oil Spill
Present study comprised of 16 phytoplankton samples during BioremedialProject conducted after 1.5 years of Tasman Spirit Oil Spill. Results showed that generaRhizosolenia and Guinardia evidenced structural deformity. The present condition ofcells clearly indicates the deleterious effects of crude oil on physiology of diatom species.
