Food of the haplochromine species surviving in the nearshore areas of Lake Victoria with specific reference to Napoleon Gulf

In this paper, the food and feeding habits of the surviving haplochromine cichlids was examined to assess whether the diet of the different trophic groups had changed and what role the haplochromine species still surviving in the lake are playing in the overall trophic ecology of the lake.
