Report of the first seminar on the current state and planned development strategies of the fisheries of lakes Victoria and Kyoga

The final report of the proceedings of the first UFFRO Seminar on the current state and planned development strategies of the fisheries of Lake Victoria and Kyoga, held in Jinja, Uganda, from 3rd to 4th November 1986, is presented. It has been set in four categories:The current trends in the fish stocks.Fish processing and quality control.Fishery economics and marketing.Fisheries development and management.The current state in each of the above categories has been highlighted and the discussions and recommendations for the future actions that followed the papers are given. The papers presented at the seminar are also appendixed to the report.
